Event Cancellations
While every effort is made to ensure that scheduled race meetings proceed as planned, cancellations are sometimes unavoidable due to weather and track conditions. Operating on a clay surface in Tasmania presents unique challenges, and the safety of competitors, officials, and spectators is always our highest priority.
Event cancellation decisions are made solely at the discretion of the Promoter, and may occur for reasons including, but not limited to:
- Rain rendering the track surface unsafe or undriveable.
- Rain making the pit or spectator areas dangerously slippery. (This is a requirement of our public liability insurance.)
- Forecast weather conditions preventing adequate preparation of the track, pits, or spectator areas to a safe standard.
- Other interruptions deemed necessary by Latrobe Speedway Management.
Latrobe Speedway management will communicate cancellations or postponements as promptly as possible via official media releases, the Latrobe Speedway website, and associated social media channels.

Non-Event Definition and Policy
A Non-Event is defined as:
A meeting that has not commenced, or a meeting that has commenced but less than 25% of the Main Track programmed events have been completed.
Examples:
- If weather prevents a meeting from starting, it will be declared a Non-Event.
- If a meeting starts but is abandoned before 25% of Main Track programmed events are completed, it will also be deemed a Non-Event.
Note: 25% of the program includes all scheduled events on the Main Track only, excluding inside track competitions, engine start-ups, etc. Please refer to the event program for event numbers.
When a meeting is declared a Non-Event:
- Competitors will not receive tow or prize money.
- Purchased tickets should be retained and may be reused for another meeting during the same season.
- If the subsequent meeting has a higher entry cost, the retained ticket must be scanned at entry and the difference in ticket price must be paid.
- All tickets will be electronically validated.
- Refunds will not be issued.
Cancelled Event Definition and Policy
A Cancelled Event is defined as:
A meeting that has commenced and 25% or more of the Main Track programmed events have been completed.
Note: This percentage includes all scheduled Main Track events, excluding inside track competitions, engine start-ups, etc. Refer to the event program for event numbers.
When a meeting is declared a Cancelled Event:
- Purchased tickets will be considered used and cannot be reused for future events.
- Refunds will not be issued.
